Windows XP/2000 - [Resolved] changing bios password posted in the Operating Systems forums; Hi there i have a laptop running xp and wish to change the opening password which i think is called the bias password can anyone help...

Hi there rudlux!

You can enter your BIOS (depending on what BIOS you have on that laptop you can do this by tapping F1, F2, Del, F10 during startup), and search somewhere for password. Your BIOS will have an option to change your password, and to config whether it has to be entered during start-up or not. If you are encountering problems, post it.

Btw the link Hengis gave you is a tutorial how to handle if you have forgotten your password. It's not relevant to your problem I think. Reading your post I thought you know your current password isn't it?

Default i got a dell inpirin 8500 bios password

hello i got a dell inspiron 8500 laptop that i got for free casue they coudnt use it cause of the forgoten bios password anyways i need help with this i dont know what to do can anybody help me thnaks
