i have windows 2k and the problume is when i start my computer it takes like 5 mins just to get to the login screen. it sayes connecting to networks?? then i login and nothing it makes the startup music and thats all just blue and some times after waiting foe another 5mins it shows the tool bar. but shortly freezes after i try anything. it doesnt even show any desktop icons. also for the last few weeks ive gottin a messege on startup saying "Missing desktop shortcut Director9.lnk" plaz help idk if i need to re-install windows 2k are any drivers

First, have you attempted to start in Safe Mode? (tap the F8 key while booting up, use your arrow keys to choose Safe Mode.)

It sounds an awful lot like you have some type of malware infection. But it may be worth your attempting to restore to a previous point before checking for that.
