Default Music Playing

Hey Guys,

Is playing music on a pc very demanding. I kind of know the answer, obviously its different for each system, but with my laptop, i have a dell 8600, 1.7ghz pentium m cpu, 512mb ram, ati 9600 turbo, intergrated sound, 60gb 5400rpm hd. My task manager reports that i am using around 15 - 30 % of my spu, its varies all the time, it goes from 15-30 non stop. Is it normal for windows media player to be that cpu hungry. it happens even on my desktop, so its normal i spose, but man, im beggining to think windows media player is a system resource eater, even if you have an awsome cpu lol, Thanks

Hey granto.

Why not try a decent media player such as Winamp or even iTunes. I use both of these and suffer no CPU spikes or unnatural usage
