Default External Harddrive problem
I have a 250 gb external harddrive and when i click my computer to try to access it. It wont let me do anything the only thing i see is the orange light flashing.
i had a file that was saved as exe by accident and i wanna to change it to .rar and avg gave me a notice and i clicked continue
thats the last that i believe happen before i couldnt see anything in my harddrive

Sorry it took a while to get to your post. Tell us:

How is the drive connected
Is the drive new
Was it working fine up until recently
Have you tried connecting it to another PC

Can you look in here: right click on my computer > properties > hardware tab > device manager and tell us if there are any little yellow exclamation points in there

there are no little yellow exclamation points in there.

How is the drive connected?
Usb 2.0
Is the drive new?
i brought it in feb
Was it working fine up until recently?
was working fine until thursday afternoon.
Have you tried connecting it to another PC?
yes i have tried to connect to other pc and i receive no message from it.

Hi there MDOT,
Have you looked at Device Manager yet?
Anyway the light on your harddisk probably just shows that it is powered.
There might be something wrong with your harddisk.
Because it is not working on another computer to, I'd suggest you to get it back to the manufacturer and let them have a look at it.

Could you explain a little better what you mean there? Was that file on the external drive? And you changed an .exe to .rar and then the trouble begone?

And looking at that part , try an online virus scan and also post an hijackthis log to check if you are infected with something , for both , see below for links.
