Default Theres something wrong with my windows XP

Theres something wrong with my windows XP. When I log on the computers the link. www.forums-united.com comes up without me clicking internet explorer (multiple times while im on the computer). I have been getting many pop-ups. Everytime a pop-up or forums united my toolbar items go away and all my programs are closed. If I try to turn on Hijack this or norton my desktop gets restarted and all my programs are exited.
Can someone please help,
Bobdam

Welcome to PCHF BobDam,
It would seem to me you have been infected with some spy-ware and malware. What I would like you to do for me is to go HERE. And do the prework, and post a Hijackthis Log write back here as a .txt upload. And we will see what has infected your pc, and get it working correct as fast as we can. It may seem like alot at first glance, but it's really not.

Hya bobdam.

If you cant scan with ewido , norton , hjt ect. , try scanning with them in safemode.

And if hjt wont run at all try this:

Here are a couple of steps to try and run HijackThis. Follow them in order. If one step doesn't work, continue to the next step:

Step # 1

Rename HijackThis.exe to H.exe. Try a scan. If it works, post the log back here. If not, proceed to the next step.

Step # 2

Go to this link and download the 1.98.2 version of HijackThis.exe:

hijackthis1.98.2

Try a scan. If it works, post the log back here. If not, proceed to the next step.

Step # 3

Click here and download Itty Bitty Process Manager (IBProcMan.zip): ibprocman.

Unzip it to it's own directory and try running it - it will provide a 'taskmanager' like process viewer in which you can stop running processes. Don't stop any yet, just list all that it has so whe can check them and give advice. Post the list back here.
