Well the link Merlin gave didnt work. It's not THAT important that i keep the folder private, I will continue to make it hidden. I was just wondering why the private option didnt work

link works for me?? try again, what it is... is a program that provides the strongest protection on folders that you can get.

Edit: as for the hidden file not being hidden, do you have "do not show hidden files and folders ticked"?

Hi Panache

Where are you referring to this option for private files\folders, in the properties of something or in the Users Control Panel?

There is also the option of booting into Safe Mode and logging in as either Administrator or your main account and then when you go to the properties of a file or folder, you will see a new option that isn't available in normal mode. You can restrict or allow access to something this way.
