Default [FIXED] Automatic Admin. Log in? i need my privacy!!

hey, thanks for dropping by guys. i have Windows XP sp2 and everything is working fine exept, when i restart my pc it always automatically logs into the real Administrator's desktop? and anyone could change any settings or delete my Admin. account.? so what i usually do is I log off of this Administrator account and go to the Welcome screen? and sign into my account (only admin. i know) from there. its odd because i dont see this "administrator" account on the welcome screen. also when i check in "user accounts" in control panel, in my admin account,? it says its only me (admin) and my guest account that have accounts on the computer. and i dont see this? other "Administrator" account. plz help! how do i fix this?!!? ?:banghead: ? ? ?

thanks, :-)

Dennis

:-D Hey Dennis00,

Welcome to PCHF, and stop banging your head, it's not broken . You aren't supposed to have the Administrator account as part of your regular log in page, when you go into Safe Mode, it will show up again. The Administrator account is to override other users in a corporate setting for example.

For now, you need to tell the computer that you would like it to start at the regular log in page, which will show you and your other guest accounts.

Go to Control Panel, User Accounts, click on User Accounts, then Change the way users log on or off. Put a checkmark next to Use the Welcome Screen, and click on Apply Options. You should be good to go.

Look forward to your reply,

:-D Hey NP Man, that's what we're here for, LOL.

take a look at these, see if any of them work for you. Somehow you got stuck with autologon set for the Administrator account.

Let us know which, if any works out for you. (See yet another instance of needing a crossing fingers smilie, :-D )

Look forward to your post.
