Could be just my English. When a computer in Holland 'hangt', everything stucks, so that you can't even move the mouse cursor anymore :P. If you should still have been able to move the mouse your computer was still accessible but the Setup was not able to get any progress.

Oh, I see, no the computer doesn't do that at all, it completely shuts off.

Hey there SF.

Ok, so we are assuming that this is a heat related issue..and with your restore options, we don't have a lot of other things to try

Let's go with the "heat" problem as the primary concern. I have included a link to EBay. The item for sale is a complete scematic for the dis-assembly of the laptop - don't worry, it will tell you how to get to the heatsink and fan to test if it's working. If it isn't then you will need to purchase a new one and install it.
