Default Cursor stuck in "move" mode

Occasionally when I drag a window and release the mouse button (I haven't pinpointed the exact cause) the cursor will remain in the "move" mode where there are arrows pointed in up, down, left and right directions. It remains stuck like this until I restart or log off and log back in. Anyone know what causes this, how I can fix it, or at least how I can get my cursor to go back to normal without restarting???
Thanks

:-) Hi Ddeering,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a really super team of folks here, and I am sure that we can help you sort out your problem.

I would start by checking for malware. Run through the instruction in the PreWork link in my signature and post your logs back here.

Look forward to your reply,

:-D I'm baaaacck.

Hi Ddeering,

Your log looks pretty clean. Did you install and/or do you use a service called WebDrive? I can't find anything about it, if not you will want to clean these

C:\Program Files\WebDrive\webdrive.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WebDriveTray] "C:\Program Files\WebDrive\webdrive.exe" /trayicon
O23 - Service: WebDrive Service (WebDriveService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\WebDrive\wdservice.exe
Also, I would fix these, they aren't malware, but the settings are suspicious.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://toshibadirect.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,AutoConfigURL = http://192.168.1.254/find_proxy.pac
N3 - Netscape 7: user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "http://home.netscape.com/bookmark/7_2/home.html"); (C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Deering\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\lnli5zbb.slt\prefs.j s)
N3 - Netscape 7: user_pref("browser.search.defaultengine", "engine://C%3A%5CProgram%20Files%5CNetscape%5CNetscape%5Csea rchplugins%5CSBWeb_01.src"); (C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Deering\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\lnli5zbb.slt\prefs.j s)
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.toshiba.com
In regard to your cursor, I don't see anything here that would have affected it. Did ewido, Adaware SE, or Spybot find anything? Have you recently installed any software or hardware on your computer? Have you updated your drivers?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN
