Default Importing office xp??

HI, Im new here, so please excuse any obvious mistakes!

I have recently replaced my hard drive, and now it is skulking away as the slave in my PC.. and it still has most of the old **** on there from when it was my only drive (win xp etc..) - the problem is I have misplaced my office xp discs, and so cant install it onto my new HD.

When I installed my new HD i installed xp as the OS, and use that as my main disc, using the old slow beast as storage for my MP3 files. Can I somehow move my office files (the whole thing, programs and all) from the old drive to the new one, or configure my PC somehow so that I can use Office? If i go into the program files folder in my old disc it wont let me start any of the programs as "my PC isnt set up for using that program" or words to that effect. Bloody paperclip.

All help very gratefully received..

Cheers,
Elts

I did found this app: Application Mover , but i think it only works when moving programs within a windows installation to different HD's/partitions , not fom one windows installation to an other.
But you could always try if it works.

Hi Again,

thanks for your help so far! Its nice to see friendly people out there!

When I go into the old drive (F , into program files, microsoft office, office 10, then find for instance the word icon, when i click it I get "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application".
Does this help?

Cjeers,
Elts

Well that means your current OS has not the right files in it to run your Office.
Those files are being placed during the normal installation of Office.
So I'm sorry but that doesn't help.

I know one way you may be able to salvage those Office XP files: Download OpenOffice 2.0 Beta and attempt to open them in that. If it can't open them it will try to recover them. Then copy/paste into an Office XP file and save it on the new HDD.

Hey Space, it might be my english but I think the problem here are the system files of Office not the documents.
