Default [FIXED] dvd drivers missing or currupt

i have a toshiba dvd-rom and lite-on dvd burner. ive had them and used them for a while. i havent been around in a week and when i went to use them today they wernt listed with my drives. when i start my computer and when i go to device manager they are listed as exactly what they are but device manager says that the drivers are missing or corrupt. i cant find any drivers when i goto update drivers and the microsoft website and both manufacturers say they dont make drivers because they use standard windows drivers. when i go to any aftermarket driver sites the lists and file names are so vague i have no idea what to get. i belive they may have been corrupted when i uninstalled nero bacause there is an event logged? where a cd rom drive failed to start in conjunction with a failure in "incd" a part of the nero software suite. but still i have no idea where to go from here.

Hya Bassmeant :-)

Try to uninstall them in the device manager and then reboot and let windows install them again.

If that doesnt work then try to uninstall and reinstall Nero since that had caused an error.

i've tried reinstalling and uninstalling nero and still nothing. i'm not really sure what the hell to do. one thing i noticed is in my drive file details i have a driver file that is not digitally signed and is not a microsoft product. it is authored by sonic solutions and is called "pxhelp20.sys" i went to the website and its a company that supports roxio products and other junk. everything it seemed to be involved with i have never used or touched. i found no help on their website as far as the file, how it got on my computer or how to fix it delete it or anything else. could this file be the problem? where do i go from here? ive uninstalled reinstalled and everything else in between. why is this happening all of a sudden? what the frig! :banghead:
