The files the website downloaded were in the Program files and called Bargain and SidebySide. I am unable to download the ewido. I keep getting a message saying "Internet Explorer was unable to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." I went to the AVG site and downloaded a tempory virus scan tool to check for virus' and didn't find any active or hidden ones. I also downloaded a trial version of Windows Registry Repair Pro and it came up with over 800 problems. I repaired them with no affect. I am unable to download any files. Keep getting the same message about unable to open. :-(

First empty the C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch folder to get rid of that error.

And just open "my computer" and in the top you'll see a "tools" button , after you click on that you'll see the folder options.

Try this and then see if you can download Ewido:

Download the Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program. This will restore the original deleted Hosts file.

You definately have some spyware/malware installed so once you manage to get ewido and hijackthis installed we will be able to help you get rid of everything

I can't get anything to download. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting but no luck. Will deleteing the files in Prefutch mess up the computer more?

I had to get on a different computer since the other was working so slowly that I had a problem going back and forth from this site and files. Right now I am trying to delete files out of the Prefutch folder and remove the windows registry repair since it is now starting to show a corrupt file. I will try the downloads after that.
