install cd drivers for mobo,

Theory=It should work like that...i would assume?? right???
Yes you can try, sometimes it can corrupt the OS but it is worth trying before doing a complete format and reload.

Just boot up with your basics connected e.g video card, sound card and once windows has installed your motherboard and all those peripherals then you can shutdown and install your other devices.

If all else fails and you have to do a clean install then I would recommend the following:

Boot off your windows XP cd and format your hard drive from there.

To be honest the process is not a lot easier than it used to be, (simpler than dos even).
