Default [FIXED] - My PC Problem, by San Franpsycho

Hello, I'm new to the forums and in desperate need of help. I'm not a computer genius at all, so I hope some you can help me out.?

The Problem:
Whenever I try to enter a program in my computer, it takes me to my Adobe Photosop program. If I want to play a game, it takes me to Adobe PS. If I want to go to Add/Remove Programs, it takes me to Adobe PS. If I want to go to System Restore...it takes me to Adobe PS.?

This is really worrying me and I don't know what to do. None of my friends could help me either.

I should note that this problem occurred after I was going to upgrade my Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0. I stopped the installion when I realized I didn't have the authorization number yeat? :-P

However, I didn't think I did anything wrong, I just clicked on cancel.

Help would be GREATLY appreciated.?

Howdy San Franpsycho

Right this is what I recommend.

Restart your computer and boot up into safe mode. To do this simply tap the F8 key continously when you first start your computer. It will prompt you with a boot screen. Select safemode.

Once in safemode go into Add/Remove programs (can be found in control panel) and then uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0 if you can see it in the list.

If you have the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 CD then it might be a good idea to uninstall Photoshop 7.

Once you have done this you can restart your computer and see whether you can your programs normally.

If every thing seems ok then reinstall your Photoshop.

Hmm, pressing F8 at startup took me to a different screen. It took me to the Boot Menu

It looked like

Boot Menu
-Select Boot First Device-

>Removable
-Floppy Disks

>Hard Disk
-1st SATA-M: WDC WD740GD-00FLA2
-Maxtor OneTouchII 023d
-Bootable Add-in Cards

>CDROM
-1st Master: NEC DVD-RW ND-3520A
-2nd Master: Lite-On CD-RW S0HR-5239S

Legacy LAN

Yukon PXE

I guess it's a different F button for me?

Also after the computer starts up, Adobe PS opens up automatically and then an error says, this document contains no data or something like that

Alright that nearly there, whats happened is your computer has another option for boot menus and it is giving you the choice to boot from CD-ROM e.t.c

What you need to do is choose Hard drive from the list and as soon as you have done that , start tapping the F8 key again.

This should now prompt you with another menu that has safemode on it.
