Default 1394 Net Adapter

What is this? I have a wireless connection. Wireless-g pci adapter. In my network connections folder it says I also have 1394 net adapter. It says it's connected. Do I need to keep this thing connected or should I disable it? When I disable it my internet connection stays on.

I completely forgot about that... (BTW - I deleted my post because it completely missed the mark...).

Yes, if you have an Ipod for example, and have the dock, the dock needs to be connected to the Firewire card, so when you plug the Ipod in, it will automatically sync with Itunes.
