Default Video Issues

When i run a video like avi the monitor flickers and then goes into sleep mode, sometimes it comes out of it when i move the mouse but usually itll stay in sleep mode and nothing will happen then i have to reset the computer. I dont have any problems with this in games and other things, this also isnt just windows media player 10, ive tried core media player and the player in the program shareaza. is there anything i can do to stop this from happening?

Welcome To PCHF,

Have you went into properties and seen how long you have b4 your monitor turns off??

Right click any open space on the desktop... click properties...then go to power...see if your monitor is set to go off in a couple of minutes or not.. IF so scroll down to never turn off..
