and joe sorry i dont have dr.divx and i went to the site u provided but i cant dl it from there.....any help guys?

To clear things up a bit , if you don't have dr divx installed then thats not the prob and you dont have to install it. And i dont think its a problem with a reg entry but if it was the drdivx right click problem then it could have been fixed with that reg entry.

If you open up regedit (start/run/regedit >enter<) and navigate to :

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

and then double click on "ContextMenuHandlers" , can you list what comes up below that?

Looks like you do have dr divx installed:

Description: EncodeDivXExt.dll is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files" - mostly C:\Program Files\DivX\Dr.DivX\.

Try what i posted before:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\En codeDivXExt]

Copy that to a text file and rename to anything.reg and double click on it , when asked if you want to enter it in the registry press yes.

Ya I am finding the same thing all over for this problem...

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. Navigate to:
HKCR \ * \ shellex \ ContextMenuHandlers \ EncodeDivXExt

Backup the key to a REG file, and delete EncodeDivXExt key
Close Registry Editor and restart Windows
