Default [Answered] cant erase program

Hi, I just uninstalled a program (alcatel for the modem I was using) but it still in the startup in msconfig, so I go in the registry, delete it and it comes right back! How can I delete this *******!

And I don't know if this is normal but since I installed my new modem, I have 2 icons (before only 1) for my internet connexion 1-sympatico (thats the name of my provider) 2-in french connexion au r?seau local , ?tat: lecture de l'adresse r?seau . The problem is I open my modem the open my PC, Its fast about 20 seconds, then ad-watch open then microsoft anti-spyware comes on and then it freeze for 2 minutes!!! But it wont do the same if I start my PC then when all the programs have started about 40 seconds, I open my modem and I can go on the web ( 15 seconds)

is there a problem I can fix? or its normal.

thanks

Hey Shark,

Welcome to PCHF.

First, in regards to you uninstalling your old modem, have you removed or disabled it from Control Panel, System? Also, try looking in Add/Remove Programs to see if it is still listed there, which would explain why it keeps coming back into your MSCONFIG.

Secondly, You should always allow your PC to completely boot before starting your connection. However, you may be able to configure your new modem to load during boot up.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Somtimes programs get stuck in Msconfig... You can try this good little program to get rid of it from there..

Msconfig Cleanup
