Hello everyone I'm new! I have windons 2000 pro nt. I recentencly noticed that when I click on multimedia and sounds and I try to turn up the volume slider, its greyed out. what should I do?

Did you try click the little speaker in your taksbar?

Thanks,

The problem is where you move your slider to adjust the volume its greyed out. Also under the audio tab, that area is greyed out also.

Another thing is that I see I have check the box (under the volume control) to put a speaker on the taskbar, its check but there is no speaker on the taskbar.

Could you go into your device manager and unistall the audio driver and reboot, see if winodws takes care of it for itself

Yes, I've tried that under my administror log on, that doen't seem to work. But I did notice that inder device manager the device for audio legacy says not available.

Do you know the model of youre motherboard? If not then download and run Belarc and post the result please.

You either have the wrong motherboard drivers or the wrong souncard drivers installed, Merlin is right, please can you get Belarc and we will be able to help you
