Windows XP/2000 - [Fixed] PC seems to be in a loop posted in the Operating Systems forums; I can now boot up in the BIOS and i have managed to get into dos, is there anything usefull i can check now...

I can now boot up in the BIOS

you could run scandisc by typing this at the command prompt (DOS)

Sorry, i tried to fool it by using a recovery disc from another pc, so when i thought i had a command prompt it was just reading the info on the cd

Is there any other way i can get into dos

I dont think there is, unless you have another PC you can use to copy the files from http://www.bootdisk.com onto floppy disk. Otherwise i think your going toi have to reformat, or if you can get into safe mode, go into my computer right click your hard disk and select Properties, then click on the Tools tab, and in the error checking section, click Check Now, check both boxes, if it comes up and tells you that it cannot finish checking the drive because files are in use, it will ask if you want to schedule a scan of the drive on next boot. Click Yes, or ok depending on the option and reboot, then it should check the drive.
