[Information/Pending] Major problems with XP Accounts
I have an HP Pavilion and windows XP. Recently, I did a system recovery and I am not able to login to some of the user accounts I had on my computer. This wouldn't be a problem, but the files from the accounts are still there. Only thing is, they are locked and I cannot get to them. Is there a way to get past the lock or anything?
Have you tired going into the accounts through control panel? My wife has an HP but she I didnt set it up for multiple user's. Seems like it tried wiping out the account's but was not succesfull. Can you delete the accounts in safe mode?
Yes, I've tried getting to the accounts from the control panel. It shows that I don't have any other accounts there other than the "Owner."
Safe mode? I haven't tried that. How do I do that?
reboot the PC and hit F8 continually untill you see a bunch of options on a black screen use your arrows to scroll up to "Boot into safe mode" then you will have 2 accounts options User or ADMIN go into the admin account then try either deleting them or restoring them.
