Hey I was gonna reinstall XP Pro on a buddies laptop but his dad didn't want me to with an XP Disc. He says that you have to use the recovery CD's that came with the laptop because they have special drivers on it. He isn't too good with computers but I was wondering if this is true. I wouldnt immagine it is, cuz ive never seen a version of XP pro released for laptops only...
He was telling the truth. The cd's he got also have drivers for that select laptop he bought from hp or dell etc.. You can do it with XP pro, but you would ave to slipstream a cd with all the drivers on it. But slipstreaming is hard and takes awhile to get it right.
