Hey, There is probley an obvious answer to this question, but im gonna fire away.
I have a dell inspiron 8600 Lappy. I have winxp Home installed. I have had it for 1 year now, and it has been an awsome machine. Not an error has come about other than errors which i have caused. The thing is, does windows xp have a certain amount of times it allows you to fully reinstall it as new. I have reformatted and installed winxp 5 times in the past year because i like to keep it fast. So is it doing my computer harm reformatting it and installing winxp every 2 1/2 months and is it true that because of ther security that winxp has, that it only allows a certain amount of reinstallation. Thanks heaps, as i am worries for my computers sake if it is doing more harm than good. Thanks in advance, Granto....

as far as i know you can install XP as many times as you like, but can i recommend that if you want to keep your PC fast then instead of re-installing xp everytime just maintain your system by defragging your Hard Drive. A format is not the best way to keep your system in tip top shape

Spellbyte is right, you can format and reload as many times as your like. The only time you will encounter problems is if you constantly change hardware e.g hard-drives. It will eventually popup and say that you need to contact microsoft because too many changes have been encountered.
