Default [Pending] Crashing computer

:smiley_pc:
Hi. This is my first time on this forum. I need to know if this is a software problem or a computer problem. My son earlier this afternoon was using NoAdware.net's free download. He talked me into letting him install it on his HP Pavillion. I usually check into this stuff first, but I was busy and he was persistent and I said yes. My son told me that after he paid and was to download the full version he lost his bottom bar and when the computer restarted it keeps turning itself off now. I tried restarting in safe mode, it still turns itself off. I have no idea what to do now. I don't know if this is a coincidence that the computer broke the same time as he downloaded this or if it is the software itself. I have cancelled my check with the bank, but now what do I do? I tried calling HP, but the wait time is very long due to the fact one of the service area's is out at this time (it is probably in India and there was floods). What do I do? What company is best that has alll in one spyware/adware/virus protection?????? My computer has a free Spy Doctor, AntiVir 6.0 and AdSubtract. Can anyone help me as I am not a tech person, but I do know a little bit about the workings of computers.

Welcome to the forums

It sounds like a software problem to me.

You can get Spy Sweeper from this link. Install it and run it on your system.

You can also get programs like Microsoft Antispyware from my signature "Handy Tools".

Once you have scanned your system (might be better to do it in safemode) then run Hijackthis and post the log onto the forum.
