welcome to pc Help forums ... Can you right click your hard drive and explore it? or does that bring up a search as well?

Hmm never seen this one b4 and I am trying to look at my system to see what you could have done to make it do that. My first response would be spyware or a virus, but dont get alarmed im still lookin :-)

Thanks :-)
Im sure its not spyware/virus/malware etc...
I was wondering however:
If you go into folder options. Then File types. Click on 'Drive' and click 'advanced'
Should there be an action called 'open' or 'explore' there??? Because i dont have one!
I tried to add one called 'open' but i wouldnt know which program to use
Thanks again!!!! :-D

hmm cant find anything, you can disable the search just to see if it works.. go to start...run and type in regedit...if you dont knwo what your doing backup your registry then find this under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\CabinetState then do the below

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\CabinetState. In the right pane, look for or create a string value called: Use Search Asst set the value to: no
