Windows XP/2000 - [FIXED] Drives are automatically searched when double clicked, not opened! help! posted in the Operating Systems forums; What happends if you press "set default" ? It should look like this: I always use "rightclick/properties/icon" to change icons....

What happends if you press "set default" ?
It should look like this:





I always use "rightclick/properties/icon" to change icons.

Yep mine looks identical!

you cant change the icon of a drives root by right clicking on it and going to properties, this takes you to the drive information window.

I can on my pc , but that doesn't matter. Did re-setting to default worked?

Nope i've tried resetting to default etc.... still no change :x

Download this text file and rename it to a .reg file and double click on it to add it to the registry and see if it worked:

(Ur file was almost perfect, Drive should have been instead of Directory)
