Default [FIXED] Windows Media Player/Codecs

Ok, recently while I was asleep. My little brother downloaded a codec needed to watch one of his videos in windows media player. I dont know what kind of codec he would even need because I already have Xvid, Divx, AC3filter, etc.. all of the codecs needed for any kind of AVI? to work fine. Now after he installed the codec, he tried going into his movies folder. They are all AVI's and he uses windows media player. Everytime he opens his folder he gets this error:
http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles...9/WinError.jpg

He tried opening windows media player and going to file-open, same error:
http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles.../WinError1.jpg

The thing is, he can't remember wat the codec was called, or where he downloaded it from. I congrats him on that? This is killing me. I cant watch any type of AVI at all. I've tryed system role back, reinstalling win media player, reinstalling win media player in safe made, reinstalling xvid, divx, etc.. none of the? vidoes work in DIVX player or realplayer either. He believes the codec may have been called VP6 VFW Codec? It's in my add remove programs list but when I try to remove nothing happends. Ive tryed going to their website and they have a new version out called VP7. Installed it and i'm still getting errors. Can anyone help me??

Try installing FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder and see if that helps.
