ok basically i recently bought a brand new pc, here is the specification

Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz
Asus P5LD2 Deluxe mobo
Nvidia 6600GT
1gig Corsair DDR2 TwinX

if there is anything else you need to know please say.

Basically i have been experiencing poor performance. The processor is dualcore and so therefore should be running things with ease... however:
Problems include, blue screen of death, dropping to desktop while in a game, and general slow performance.

I also had some other problems which i have recently resolved.

If anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Tim and welcome to PCHelpForum, ok what you need to do is perform anti virus and spyware scans on your system.? Next you need to defrag you hard disk.? You also need to update your graphics card drivers.? Could you also run HiJackThis (Found in the downloads section along with anti spyware and anti virus tools) and post your log please. What Operating System are you running?

What is the power rating on your power supply? guessinng Xp since your running a gig of ram.

well i dont think i would have any viruses as i only just installed the internet, ive been at a lan all weekend.
