Looking at the name of the folder "Microsoft\CD Burning" , could it have something to do with winxp's built in cd burning capabilitys ?
Maybe it are "Files Ready to Be Written to the CD" , i dont use windows' burning software and have it disabled so i cant look anything up but here are 2 links with info on it. maybe it helps.

When you drag files into the CD folder in preparation for burning a CD, you actually copy them to a temporary folder in your local profile. Then, when you begin the actual burning process, Windows creates a separate image file. If you've selected enough files to fill a CD to its full capacity, you'll need more than 1 GB of extra disk space.

Is F: by coincedence maybe youre cd writers drive letter?

If there's nothing important in the folders, just press Shift when you're in CD Burning, right click the F folder and click Delete. That bypasses the Recycle Bin.

Thatotheridiout~

i use Nero for all my burning needs and F:\ is just a storage drive.? I:\ & J:\ are my cd writer drives.

i also tried the "shift/delete" method.? it says it "cannot delete file".? i was hoping that would work.? doh!

Merlin~

that link is a 404 error, although it does hit the actual site.

u guys, i know that there are more dire needs on this wonderful site.? i'm glad i found it.? i hope this trivial thing isn't deterring you from more important stuff.? i appreciate it and hopefully, although trivial, it may help someone else out in the future.? it's the sort of thing that drives you crazy :banghead: i know.

thanks a million!

ps...while i have you here.? Every time i try to look at attachments here, they try to keep opening within Winamp....lol.? how do i change this permanantly to open within a viewer?? even the basic ms picture viewer is fine.

To remove the Nero Virtual drive: Go to Control Panel => Add/remove Software, select "ImageDrive (Ahead Software)" and click Remove
