Default [Pending] hard disk space problem

hey all,

ive recently installed wsk sp4 on an old 9.50 gb hard disk. The install is fine and the usual wint, program files and docs and setting folders are there, these three combined only take up around 700 mb space.

All ok so far, the problem is is that the machine is saying that it only has just over a gig of free space left, what hapepned to my remaining 8 gig.
When i check the drive, both through windows and through dos, same thing, same three directories but loads of missing space.

any ideas or help is much appreciated

many thanks
Paul
