Default [Fixed] enable graphics card

I hope someone can help.

I was having a problem with my computer and recieved advice to disable my graphics card to rule it out.

I disabled my graphics card through Windows hardware manager and rebooted. Since then my computer boots up and then I get a black screen.

How do I enable my graphics card?

I am running Windows XP professional, Gigabyte motherboard and an ATI Radeon 9600.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try boot into windows safe mode and enable your graphics card from there.

Thanks for the response.

I've tried booting through safe mode but it didn't work.

My computer boots to the Windows screen with the blue progress bar and copywrite stuff, then goes black and 'out of range'.

I can hear all the regular noises of things turning on but I just can't se them.

Any other ideas??

Thanks again for your help.

Mike

Have you tried booting up the computer using the following from the F8 prompt:
  • Last known good configuration
  • Enable VGA mode

In the meantime I will look for more answers!

Does youre MoBo have an onboard vga chip? If yes , see if you can enable it in youre bios.
If it works then boot as normal and re-enable/re-install youre vga card.
