[Fixed] Folders locked after reinstallation of windows!!!
Hi,
I hope someone can help.
I have just reinstalled windows and now I cant get in to some folders from the previous installation. How do I unlock these so I can get back in. I think there is some options to do with security??

Welcome to PCHF deadlyhifi
You need to "take ownership" of the folders/files. Right click on the folder > properties > security tab > advanced > permissions tab > add your new username (make sure that the "Replace user permissons..... box is ticked at the bottom).
Then owner tab > do the same
If the security tab is not showing open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > view - scroll to the bottom of the list and un-check "use simple file sharing".
Re: Folders locked after reinstallation of windows!!!
Make sure you select to propogate the rights thru the child folders and files - that way your ownership will be granted in all sub folders and files contained within. All of the options are available thru the security tab.

I have just done it great. However I now have another problem. There was a lot of pictures in my shared pictures and now I cant even find the original shared folder with these pictures in. Where could this be?
