I'm doing a reformat, just wondering if I can pick some files that I want to keep.

Yep you can do a backup. You either need a seperate Hard drive or re writerable CD's.

This thread was left unfinished. Not only can you choose files to save, you should have backups of all of your important files. It is important to know that program files will need to be reinstalled after reformatting though.
