Welcome to PCHF.

Is this a new drive?

Have you set the jumper on the drive to "slave"?

I had the same problem. Normaly XP will install det HDD, but sometimes you need to install a partition when installing XP. You will probably find the HDD in the device manager, but not in disk management.

Hey,

No its not a new drive, it was working fine in my previous installation. I havent had a chance to check the slave jumper - but i presume it is set for slave as it worked previous!

Thanks

Does the second drive show up in youre bios?

PS; you didn't accidentely deleted it's partition(s) when installing windows?

Try to boot from the windows cd and continue the setup process untill you get to the "select partition menu" and see if the HD and it"s partition(s) show up there. Then just choose to exit the installer and reboot without changing anything.
