Default [Fixed] Explorer.exe problem

Hey, Right I got a problem on my PC, and i dont know when or where it came from, but it seems to be a simple configuration error. I need help.

Problem:
- Slow startup "Welcome" Screen, then just the wallpaper, nothing else.
- Explorer.exe starts but hangs, I have to start it again manually via Task manager.
- Everything works fine, until i shut down. Explorer.exe won't end properly.
- The problem does NOT exist when i boot in safe mode.

Solutions Tried:
- Replacing the explorer.exe file. Nothing changed.
- Spybot, Adaware and Ewido ran. Nothing detected, and all are updated.
- Disabled startup programs via msconfig. Nothing changed.
- System Restore. Problem still existed with earliest restore point.
- Deleted recent programs.
- Deleted firewall, then reinstalled.
- Put Explorer shortcut in startup folder, only to realize i needed explorer running for it to work lol.

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Try the following:

Remove these entries from Hijackthis:

O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.freeserve.co.uk
O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Euchre - http://download.games.yahoo.com/game...ts/y/et1_x.cab

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{710CDFD7-2D2F-4966-BAA9-8C6B298D45A4}: NameServer = 205.188.146.145

If that doesn't make any difference then I recommend uninstalling your Mcafee Firewall (and Anti-Virus if you have) , and seeing whether that helps. If it does you can then reinstall it.
