Please can you post the exact error message. What's a "Windows logo" program?

Thanks

hmmmmmm... This is the error that comes up when i try to install internet explorer 6.0. "The Software you are installng has not passed Windows Logo to verify its compatibility with Windows XP."

Also, i have deleted my Directx, stupidly, to update it because of problems simply installing the newer version. I didnt realise Directx needed ie to install it.

Right Click on "My Computer" > select "Properties" > "Hardware Tab" > "driver signing" button, when the new window opens cick the "Ignore........" one and then make sure "Make this action the system default" is checked also. Hit "Apply" then "Ok" and try reinstalling.

I tried that, still didn't work. So much wrong with it, I'm gonna have to re-format the whole thing I think. Thanks for trying to help.
