Make an icon on your desktop and Shutdown / Restart / Logoff with ONE click
1. Right click the Desktop and select New > Shortcut
2. A screen will appear asking you for a Command Line. Here's what you put in that box:
For Shutdown:
Shutdown -s -t 0
For Restart:
Shutdown -r -t 0
For Log Off:
Shutdown -l -t 0
When you decide which one you want, name it.
Final Notes:
1. Now, you have the shortcut on your desktop. If you want, you can drag it onto your taskbar.
2. If you don't like the icon Windows gives ya - change it!

WindowsXP has a program called SHUTDOWN.EXE which allows you to easily create icons to shutdown or restart your computer.
To create a shutdown shortcut on the desktop: 1. Right click on an open area of the desktop 2. Select New / Shortcut 3. Enter in "shutdown -s -t 00" - (no quotes) 4. Press the Next button 5. For the name, enter in anything you like. I just use shutdown. Click the Finish button. 6. For a reboot, enter "shutdown -r -t 00" 7. Now you can change the icon for the ones you'd like.Just right click then chose properties then change icon. There you can find a green squer with white arrow for reboot I use and the red off icon for shutdown. Shutdown [{-l|-s|-r|-a}] [-f] [-m [\ComputerName]] [-t xx] [-c "message"] [-d[u][p]:xx:yy] Parameters: * -l - Logs off the current user, this is also the defualt. -m ComputerName takes precedence. * -s - Shuts down the local computer. * -r - Reboots after shutdown. * -a - Aborts shutdown. Ignores other parameters, except -l and ComputerName. You can only use -a during the time-out period. * -f - Forces running applications to close. * -m [\ComputerName] - Specifies the computer that you want to shut down. * -t xx - Sets the timer for system shutdown in xx seconds. The default is 20 seconds. * -c "message" - Specifies a message to be displayed in the Message area of the System Shutdown window. You can use a maximum of 127 characters. You must enclose the message in quotation marks.

A to Z for the All Programs menu
Apparently the All Programs menu doesn't the alphabetical order! But there's a way to teach it the ABCs. Click Start and point to All Programs. Right-click the Programs menu anywhere and choose Sort by Name on the Shortcut menu. |

Tired of how your XP looks? Get a program called WindowBlinds. You can customize the look of your whole PC, including folers and files. WB has a free 2-month trial. After that if you're filthy rich, get the real thing.
