RE: Tweak Your Processor.

I already have a DWORD under this branch called 'SecondLevelDataCache' but the value is Hex 0 should the new value be 512 hex or 512 dec ??? What would happen if the wrong Base was used??

"Windows XP is optimized for processors having 256KB of Level2 cache. However, many of today's processors have more than this. Find out how much Level2 cache your processor has and carry out the following tweak.

-Navigate to the registry branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Memory Management.

-Create a new DWORD under this branch called 'SecondLevelDataCache' and assign it a value corresponding to the amount of your processor's Level2 cache (for example, 512 or 1024 in the case of 512KB or 1MB respectively.)

-Restart Windows and you will should see a further increase in performance of your system! Goodluck "

hi,

Simply start a new thread and post up pics of your list, someone can then help you to turn off anything that may not be needed.

Smile Control windows using your keyboard

If you like to keep four or five windows open while you work (or play) on your computer, you'll appreciate knowing these keyboard shortcuts. You can quickly switch between your Web browser, e-mail, instant message windows, and other programs without taking your hands off the keyboard.

Minimize a window to your taskbar - ALT, SPACEBAR, N

Maximize a window so it takes up your whole desktop -ALT, SPACEBAR, X

Restore a window so it's visible but doesn't take up your whole desktop -ALT, SPACEBAR, R

Close a window -ALT+F4

Switch to the last window you had open -ALT+TAB

Switch to any window - Hold down the ALT key, and press TAB until the window you want is active
