Default [Answered] 0x77f5243c error

Hello all, PLEASE help. I recently tried to repair my PC using the Windows XP disk, which seemed to load fine, however, once completed and after the last reboot, the following error appeared: "0x77f5234c referenced memory cannot be written at 0x0070803c" I have tried rebooting and almost all of the options in the 'F8' menu as well as 'F2' and lastly 'F12'

The computer is my kids, who are younger so reformating would not be a problem. My issue is how can I reformat the hard drive to reinstall XP etc? Or do you have any other suggestions. I was leaning towards reformating so that I could reinstall updated antiviral and spyware software.

Thanks for any and all help.

Welcome mlund12

Makes you mad huh? Windows memory errors are relatively hard to pin down at the best of times...

Ok, so you have kind of resolved yourself to a re-format & re-build - this guide will help you in your task: PC Re-build Guide

Good luck and let us know how you get on

Oh yeah and erm, make sure you go into the BIOS and set your boot order.

I think it is:

CD ROM
Floppy Drive
Hard Disk
