Default [Answered] Windows won't start

I have a problem with my desktop PC too!

Since yesterday, it won't boot properly. It gets to where my wallpaper shows but none of the desktop icons show and it just freezes there.

Is there something I can do in safe mode to fix this problem?

Thank youuuu!

Please refer to my answer to your other question - the answer applies to both

It could be four things

1) Spyware
2) Viruses
3) Hard Disk hasnt been defragged
4) Too Many startup programmes running

I was POSITIVE i had restore turned on, in fact i DID have it on cos i've used it before, but i started up in safe mode and found out my system retore is turned off! How did that happen? Anyway, am I screwed now with no system restore? I tried turning all the startup running programs off but that didn't help.

I got this laptop fixed - decided to give it a fresh install after all. Took my all day yesterday to get everything back onto it but it's working like a dream now

Have you tried going into Start > run > msconfig > startup tab and dis-abling all unwanted or un-recognized programs in there?

Need help, ask
