Well I was prepared to write a whole load of info for you on this subject....but then I found this: Why Can't I Rename/Delete a File?
I think this is a great piece and should really help you with your problem

if you wont to try a couple quick fixes b4 going to more drastic measures... what worked for me almost all the time is....
just hit ctl+alt+del (to bring up task manager) go to proccess tab then right click on explorer.exe and 'end proccess'. give it a couple secs, then in task manger go to \file\new task... type 'explorer' hit enter.... then naviage back to the file right click and it may delete this time. another way that worked for me is... go to /start/program files/accessoris/command prompt...... or /start/run 'cmd' then try the command 'erase' and or 'delete' example..... > erase "c:\program files\misc program\downloads\annoyingfile.example" |
