hi i was wondering can i save all the window updates for windows xp pro to my hard drive?
the thing is every time i have to format as soon as i hook to the net my cpu is taken over by viruses and you name it and im sick of dealing with all that ****. i was thinking i i could save all the updates to my slave drive then the next time i could install them without having to go online. and that would stop the problem i have been having.if so could you be so kind as to give me a link to were i would get these updates to save to my slave. thanks in advance.

You can get a Windows XP Service pack 2 CD from microsoft for free, from memory it takes a couple of weeks to get. So this would be a start, at least then you wouldn't have to download the service pack.

I have noticed that you can download the updates from the microsoft update site.
Check out this link
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp

Click on "Find updates for Microsoft Windows operating systems" then choose your OS and choose from the following update menus:
  • Critical Updates and Service Packs
  • Multi-Language Features
  • Recommended Updates

You can then choose which updates you want, add them to your basket, click on browse and tell it where you want to download the updates too and click ACCEPT.

Hope this helps
