Hi sammy.

**First - Go to Windows Update and get all the latest patches/fixes and service packs**

1) Have you tried switching SR off, re-booting and then switching it back on?

2) Are you sure that SR is monitoring the right disk/partition? Right click on "My Computer" - properties - System Restore Tab and then look in the box at the bottom...SR should be monitoring the drive/partition with your XP installation on it.

3) If you have your XP install CD it would be a good idea to boot to the cd and go into the Repair Console and type CHKDSK /R at the dos prompt. This will thoroughly check your hard drive for inconsistencies.

4) Extra resource here: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?e...rce=sr&phase=1 including an event ID description.
