I'm a new member of your forum and I don't speak english good.. anyway I have problem ..
when I try to install a lot of software in my Windows XP OS the following dialog box appear:
16 bit Windows Subsystem (this in title bar of the dialog box) and the content of the box as following:
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows application. Choose "Close" to terminate the application.

and there're two button at the bottom:
Close and Ignore

I hope you would kindly help me out to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Hi & welcome

This error is caused by a corrupt autoexec.nt or config.nt file in your c:\windows\system32.

A full resolution to your problem can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324767

You could try doing the following:

Open c:\windows\repair - find an older copy of the autoexec.nt file in there and copy it to your c:\windows\stystem32 folder.

Hi Guys and Gals,

This thread was left unfinished. It is possible that Stid needed to replace the Config.nt file as well.

The full instructions for repairing the Autoexec.nt and Config.nt files from Microsoft are included in this article. Repairing Autoexec.nt files.

If you find yourself in the unenviable position of needing to work without the CD, follow the instructions at the end of the article.

If you are still having problems, please post your own thread in the XP/2000 forum.

See you in the forums,

TTFN

LGW
