Default [FIXED] How can I transfer an old driver from a "slave" hard drive

Recently, I had to create a new boot disk because a virus made it impossible to boot off the old one.? I was able to install windows XP home on the new drive, and from there, I was able to see the "infected" drive as the secondary drive.

The problem I'm having is that the sound card for this particular motherboard is built-in, so I need the driver that came with the motherboard.? I don't have any rescue disks, the manufacturer has disappeared, but I know that the sound drivers are somewhere on the slave drive....if only I could find them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,

ricard

Hey there.

Before we try to recover the old driver why don't we try to locate the driver for you. Run the free tool here: http://www.pchelpforum.com/forum/ind...pic,225.0.html and post your soundcard specs.

Thanks...that's a cool little program. Anyway, all it says in the multimedia section is:

MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device
Standard Game Port

Since the sound "card" is part of the motherboard, maybe the motherboard info will help:

Board: ECS K7S5A 1.0
Bus Clock: 66 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/01

Thanks,

r
