Default [FIXED]norton internet security suite problems

i was using avg and everything was fine, but i decided to check out? how norton compared t it.
and boy...am i regretting it.

after installng nis, my system has considerably slowed down.? besides a slwoer start up time, responses have also become slow. also, i use photoshop and ive noticed it has slowed down too.

i tried unistalling nis from the control panel but i get a message saying that i need an account with supervisor privileges.

but heres the truly worst part, i cant even start the firewall. when i open up the suite and double click on firewall, i get "you do not have sufficient privileges".? i cant use my ims and other programs tht connect to the internet.

this thing is really doing my head in. id appreciate all the help i can get. thanx

It sounds like a privilege problem but the strange thing is if you didn't have the appropriate privileges then it should not have allowed you to install norton.

If you go into Control Panel and then double click on "User Accounts"
Check what group is listed under you login name, (it needs to be set to Administrator)
If it isn't then you should be able to click on Properties and change it to Administrator from there, otherwise Add another username and make sure it is set to Administrator.
This link might help http://uis.georgetown.edu/software/d....accounts.html

Hope this helps

Try boot your computer into Windows Safe mode. ( if it asks for a login name use Administrator)
Once you are in, try to remove Norton from there.

ive done it, ive removed this piece of ****

i had taken the login part of nis off my startup list. so even tho i was logged in as administrator, i couldnt do anything. after putting it back on the list, i could remove it.
