Default [Answered] Failing computer.......

Ok. My aunt's MB died. So I told her to get a new one. She went to a computer shop and told the guy there her problem. So it was 'fixed'. Then she complained to me the computer was dog slow now. It appears that the chap who helped her install the MB didn't help her to install the software. And he reformatted Windows but kept the key components. So now I have a Hard-drive which once had SP2 but now displays like SP1. To further compound the problem, I only have an Acer recovery disc, so a reformat is out of the question. Now the MOUSE seem to have stopped working and random errors keep popping out. And I discovered that instead of 2 sticks of DDR266 RAM, now there is 1 stick of DDR133 and 1 stick of DDR266. I think my aunt got ripped off. So I'm going down with her tomorrow to the shop to demand an explaination. Tell me, should I just get a new com???

Default Failing computer.......

Wow - nasty business...

If you're sure that the guy has ripped her off, get him to match the RAM and give you a copy of XP...problem sorted
