Howdy

Our domain controller is running Windows 2000 server and I want to enable the Event Viewer to Log users logins and logoffs.
At first I thought this would be easy, I went through the Domain Controller Security and enabled account logon events. The problem is this seems to log every event. e.g. anytime a machine needs to run through the domain controller. (which is every minute of the day)
All I need is to setup a logging system so that it logs when a User first logs in - in the morning and when a user logs off their machine at night.
So theoretically there would be two events per user.
Gary - logon 8:00
Gary - logoff 17:00
Something like that.

Any Ideas ?

Hi Zimbo.

I use Technet at work and was wondering why I bookmarked this page...until now :-D

Tracking Logon and Logoff Activity in Windows 2000

Hope that's what you need.
