All right. Did all that. Have the new, completely formatted slave drive. Deleted the old partition, and created a new one. Then shut down, and format :c'd. Everything went perfectly.

However, when I plugged the drive back into the new computer, I still got the error message.

Actually, scatch that. I didn't recieve the same error message. I got a new one. Invalid boot CD, or something along those lines. I am assuming it means that it wants my windows xp startup stuff.

It seems like this is finally going to work. Thanks a ton, Hengis, I really can't describe how appreciative I am of your help.

Great news for you.

If you are still getting this "CD" message let us know - it's fixable

Ok, I installed windows xp pro from my CD. However, now when I start up, I am getting the error message "NLTDR is missing."

I am going to google that error message to see if I can't figure out how to fix it, but if anyone here knows how to get rid of it, I would appreciate some help.

Hi,

Before we get started on looking for a fix for this prob - I know for a fact that you can receive this message if you have a non-bootable floppy disk in the disk drive when you switch the PC on...please check for that first

Checked the floppy disk drive, it was all right. Right now, I deleted the partition that I installed windows xp on, and am formatting it now. It was FAT32, the new one I am creating is NFTS. I am going to reinstall windows with that.

I hope that might work. If not, I'll check back here.
