Default [Fixed] XP Hibernation Problem

When i come out of hibernation on my XP PC it always reverts to the welcome screen and i have to log in before i can carry on. The thing is i want to go straight to my desktop without having that welcome screen. I have the only account on my computer and I just want it to stop going back to the login every time!!

Default [Fixed] XP Hibernation Problem

Hey Mazz.

There is a fix for this.

> Right click on the desktop > properties > Screen Saver > Power > Advanced > Untick the box that says "prompt for password....."

That's it!

If you aren't running a laptop then I would suggest you turn hibernation off anyway

Thanks hengis - I have taken Hibernation off completely. From now on I'm just gonna use Standby and hard drive/monitor shut off to save a bit of juice.
